The trip to William Paterson University was an exciting experience for everyone who participated. From start to finish, all of the students remained respectful and mindful of each other while they represented the school.
After walking around the school for the better part of the tour, we got to look around the campus to see what the students do throughout their day. The average classes on campus are made up of around 20 students, to facilitate effective support from teachers to their students, and to enable students to easily seek help from their teachers.
Next, the tour guides took us on an adventure exploring the campus buildings. From observing the nursing students and facility to gaining access to the finance building, we had the opportunity to see it all. A group of students organized a special event for us and we spent most of our remaining time with them while they explained the program that they use and answered any questions.
Then, the tour guides led us into the on-campus cafeteria. They gave each student and teacher on the field trip a lunch pass and gave us about an hour for everyone to eat. It was revealed that students had to pay around $1,000 or more for around 75 swipes on their wristbands. That wristband needed to be swiped every time they entered the cafeteria. Once they got rid of their dishes, they weren’t allowed to come back to the cafeteria and were led to the exit instead.
After lunch, we were led to an auditorium where teachers and staff were there to explain to us what pathways they had available to the students. Their explanation included what programs and grants were available as well as what the requirements were to be accepted into the school.
Shortly after they were done, they told the students that they had a surprise for them. This was a school hoodie that was not available in any stores! #PASEgetsexclusivegear #WPU
