The Passaic Optimist Club holds a number of events throughout the year to celebrate the achievements of young people and honor those who serve the community. Nominees are students who maintain a positive spirit and display attributes that make the world a better place. Each year, they host a Youth Appreciation Dinner to recognize students who go above and beyond and they allocate thousands of dollars to graduating seniors. Last year, they awarded almost $100,000 to this cause. The recipients will also be able to apply for a scholarship.
